Signal Processing and Antennas

The division offers undergraduate education in basic Signals and Systems as well as Antenna Engineering, Digital Signal Processing and Statistical Signal Processing. There are also PhD level courses in related areas, from the theoretical methods to applications in Antenna Engineering and Signal Processing.

Our research concerns both fundamental issues and applications. Most projects benefit from close collaboration with industry but with a long-term perspective.

The research within Antenna Group has three main lines:

  • measurement technology for complex wave progagation environments
  • artificial materials and surfaces
  • technology for ultrawideband feeds. The group has access to a unique collection of theories, numerical methods and measurement technologies. The applications are mainly in mobile and satellite communication.

The Signal Processing Group deals mostly with development and analysis of new algorithms based on statistical models. The methods are used in a wide range of applications, such as adaptive antennas in mobile communication and radar, video communication, engine control and sensor fusion for automotive safety.
