Mats Rydström is a graduate student with the Communication systems group. He has, since 2003, been involved in the Vinnova project Safe Traffic, where the possibilities of increasing traffic safety using wireless communication systems is investigated. Mats' main research interests are positioning systems for use in wireless sensor networks and cellular systems.

In October 2005, Mats presented his Licentiate thesis. The title of the thesis was Positioning and Tracking in Asynchronous Wireless Sensor Networks.
