Vision
Efficient future product realization of complex assembled products is carried out virtually and integrated. The Wingquist Laboratory VINN Excellence Centre envisions a fully virtual product realization process, where product and production system are developed and verified together, without physical prototypes or testing.

Mission
The Wingquist Laboratory VINN Excellence Centre develops knowledge, tools and methods to support a virtual product realization process that drastically reduces time and cost and increases product quality for collaborating partners.

Goal
The Wingquist Laboratory VINN Excellence Centre will enable for collaborating partners in Swedish industry to drastically reduce time and cost and to increase their product quality.

The scientific and industrial/societal goals for the centre are:

  • well-established cross-disciplinary research on high scientific level
  • good international network and position
  • close collaboration with Swedish industry
  • new business opportunities for industrial partners
  • new products and companies in Sweden
  • increased equality in the research environment.

These qualitative goals are continuously monitored by the centre board and evaluated by the International Scientific Advisory Board at least once per stage. To measure the total centre performance, the overall scientific and industrial/societal goals for the centre are broken down into a number of indicators with specified goals for Stage 2-4 when the centre is in full operation.

The indicators are used for each project to measure project performance and are summarized to measure centre performance.
