Dr Lars Lindkvist is associate professor (docent) in product and production development. He is active in the research group Geometry Assurance and Robust Design. His research interest is about creating methods and tools for simulation and evaluation of geometrical robustness and the effect of manufacturing variation on the product performance. This work includes industrial design aspects, visualization, robust design, statistical variation simulation, optimization, assembly modelling and analysis, inspection preparation and analysis. The research is done in close collaboration with the automotive industry. A number of the research results have been implemented in commercial software products that are used by a large number of engineers in international companies.
