If today's large rear-view mirrors on trucks were to be removed it would improve many features of a truck. Increased fuel efficiency and decreased noise due to reduced air drag and improved direct visibility are a few of these positive aspects. In this master thesis the possibility to replace the class II and class IV rear-view mirrors on trucks with a camera monitoring system has been investigated and a conceptual study of this has been performed
