Undergraduate educationThe Department of Materials and Manufacturing Technology is responsible for a variety courses in the area of Mechanics, Manufacturing, Material Science, Microstructure Engineering, High Voltage Engineering and Non Destructive Testing. Both fundamental and advanced courses are offered for education program on all degrees approved by Chalmers. The area has a strong focus on application and thereby the experimental facilities are extensive. The applied research at the department provides the students the possibility to work with state-of-the-art instrumentation in the laboratory. The department is responsible for the Master’s Program
Advanced Engineering Materials and is severely involved in the programs
Production Engineering and Electrical Power Engineering. Since educational
strategies are critical, development and implementation of courses are
generally performed according to both the CDIO initiative (Conceive, Design,
Implement, Operate) and to the structural changes linked to the so-called
