Jörgen Bengtsson
Jörgen Bengtsson received the degrees of M.Sc. in engineering physics in 1993 and Ph.D. in photonics in 1997 from Chalmers University of Technology in Göteborg, Sweden. Presently, he is an associate professor at the Photonics Laboratory at Chalmers University of Technology. Previous research topics include the development of multifunctional light-modulating optical components using diffractive optics and their integration with active components such as vertical cavity microlasers (VCSELs) or MEMS, and numerical simulation of partially coherent radiation from lasers used in optical microlithography. Current activities include development of tunable semiconductor disc lasers for high-power emission, real-time digital holography for optical tweezers and optical trapping, and development of novel optical feedback structures in waveguide lasers and VCSELs.
