Daniel Zakrisson was born in Umeå, Sweden, in 1986. In 2010 he received his M.Sc. degree in physics from Umeå University. After graduating he started to work at Fiber Optic Valley in Hudiksvall as a consultant, helping companies in the region with product development concerning optics and fiber optics. Since the fall of 2011 he is working towards a Ph.D. degree at Chalmers University of Technology. His research is focusing on optical channel estimation and performance monitoring for coherent systems.
