Carl Lundström was born in Umeå, Sweden, in 1982. He received the M.Sc. degree in Engineering Physics in 2007 and the Ph.D. degree in 2012, both from Chalmers University of Technology, Göteborg, Sweden. During his Ph.D. studies, he was engaged in the European research project PHASORS. His thesis focused on phase-sensitive parametric amplification in optical fibers with applications in optical communications. His current research interests include parametric amplification and related effects in optical fibers, in both phase-insensitive and phase-sensitive applications, such all-optical signal processing and ultra-low noise amplification.
