Johnny Karout, Erik Agrell, Krzysztof Szczerba, and Magnus Karlsson have received an IEEE GLOBECOM 2011 best paper award for their paper entitled "Designing Power-Efficient Modulation Formats for Noncoherent Optical Systems". GLOBECOM is one of the largest international conferences on communication and only 14 out of 1070 papers are selected for this award.
