The department of Microtechnology and Nanoscience - MC2 is one of 17 departments at Chalmers.

The department is managed by Dag Winkler, head of department, assisted by Mikael Fogelström, deputy head.

MC2 is managed through an Advisory Council and an Executive Group. The Advisory Council takes decision in questions of strategic importance, while the Executive Group decide on operative matters.

The department has 200 employees and is divided into seven laboratories, of which six are reserach laboratories and one is a cleanroom, the Nanofabrication Laboratory.

The department graduates around 10 PhDs and 10 Licentiate of Engineering every year. The department also takes part in the undergraduate education for the programmes in Engineering Physics, Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering.
