Computational Mathematics

Our main research areas are numerical linear algebra, numerical solution of partial differential equations, and homogenization theory.

In particular, we study the theory and implementation of finite element methods for partial differential equations, transport equations, stochastic partial differential equations, and optimal control theory.

In numerical linear algebra we specialize in eigenvalue problems, preconditioning by incomplete factorization, and implementation of parallel algorithms.

We are associated with GMMC and MP2 and the Chalmers e-Science Center.

We hosted the Chalmers Finite Element Center 1997-2005.
