Alde Nilsson Award Ceremony

September 17, during the Conference dinner

The Alde Nilsson scholarship is awarded to encourage research in Production Technology and Engineering at the technical universities in Sweden. The scholarship was established in 1987 to honor Mr Alde Nilsson on his 70th birthday. For 17 years Alde Nilsson was executive vice president in charge of production, for which at the time was called ASEA, and today is the Swedish part of the global company ABB. ABB has a large part of processing in Sweden and also responsibility for global products. Constantly ongoing and significant productivity improvements are absolutely essential in order to be competitive in the global market. For ABB, automation is thus very important in order to provide a flexible production capacity!
