Fundamental Physics graduate School

The Fundamental Physics graduate school contains three specializations:

  • Mathematical Physics
  • Subatomic Physics
  • Theoretical Elementary Particle Physics

Director of graduate studies: Måns Henningson, mans at chalmers dot se.

The research areas of the Fundamental Physics graduate school span the parts of the subatomic physics where the three research groups of the department are active. These are both experimental and theoretical nuclear physics and theoretical elementary particle physics with focus on gauge theories, string theory and/or mathematical physics.

The three specializations share the purpose of conveying knowledge and understanding of the fundamental physical laws governing the Universe; from its smallest constituents elementary particles to astronomical objects and structures.
