Mathematical physics

Research activities

The research group Mathematical Physics specializes on mathematical methods of physics with a connection to geometric and algebraic structures. Applications for these string-inspired methods are found within several branches of physics (gravitation and cosmology, elementary particle physics, condensed matter physics, and possibly even biology) and mathematics (differential geometry, theory of representation for non-compact groups, etc.). The group participates in networks of mathematical physicists and mathematicians from Chalmers, GU, Karlstad, and KTH, Stockholm.
