A central part of the activity at the department is concerned with outreach and interaction with the surrounding society. This implies scientific collaborations within the different areas of each research group with various institutes and universities worldwide as well as common scientific initiatives with other departments at Chalmers. In addition, the department carries out extensive work concerned with mediating the results of its research to schools, Chalmers students and the general public.

In the menu on the left are a number of the projects aimed at mediating interest in and knowledge of physics to the general public and stimulating learning and interest in science in general in the schools.
