![]() FUNDAMENTAL PHYSICSThe Department of Fundamental Physics consists of three research groups: Subatomic Physics, Mathematical Physics, and Theoretical Elementary Particle Physics. The area of research covers different aspects of subatomic physics. It includes experimental as well as theoretical nuclear physics, theoretical elementary particle physics with focus on gauge theories and/or string/M-theory, and mathematical physics with emphasis on geometric or algebraic aspects of string/M-theory. Within the department there is also an interest in astrophysics and cosmology. We operate under the framework of "Fysicum"; a forum for physics research and education in Göteborg that consists of the two Chalmers departments: Department of Applied Physics ant Department of Fundamental Physics, and the Department of Physics at Göteborg University. | Internal pages (in Swedish) |
Large European research grant to Christian ForssénChristian Forssén of the Subatomic physics group at Fundamental Physics receives Euro 1.3 million research grant from the European Research Council (ERC). Royal Academy of Science research position to Fundamental PhysicsUlf Gran of the Matheatical Physics group has been awarded one of eight five year research positions by the Royal Academy of Science. Ulf's research is concerned with modern string theory and its relation to particle physics. | Job position in Elementary Particle PhysicsThe department of Fundamental Physics invites applications for an Associate Professor position in the field of Elementary Particle Physics. | Job positions in Basic SciencesChalmers invites applications for two Assistant professor positions and five PhD student positions in the basic sciences. | Next event List of all seminars at the department >> | ![]() |
