PhD student
Viktor Larsson is a PhD student in the Automatic control research group. His research concerns energy management of plug-in hybrid electric vehicles and more specifically discharge strategies for trips that exceed the vehicle’s electric range. Access to a priori information on the imminent driving mission can be used to reduce fuel costs if the battery is discharged at a slower rate. Viktor’s main research challenge is to acquire this information and consider its uncertainties when deriving the control strategy, typically using optimal control techniques such as dynamic programming and convex optimisation.
