Susanna Eriksson

PhD student, Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Forest Products and Chemical Engineering

Susanne has a background in synthetic organic chemistry with an MSc from the University of Gothenburg. In November 2010 she started as a PhD student at Forest Products and Chemical Engineering at Chalmers. Her research is directed towards processes and materials in connection to future biorefineries. The focus is on the separation of the components of Nordic softwood through full or partial dissolution in ionic liquid based solutions.

Her project is part of Theme 1 within WWSC (Wallenberg Wood Science Center) which is a collaboration between Chalmers and KTH with funding from the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation. You can learn more about the center's background and activities on the website:
