Olle Hartvigsson is a PhD student at the division of Food and Nutrition Science. His research is mainly focused on trying to predict risk groups for allergy development in newborn children using metabolomics analysis of cord blood and developing mathematical models. Allergy is the most common chronic disease in children of industrialized countries causing suffering for the individual and high costs for the society. The goal with his research is to find early predictive biomarkers for allergy development and opportunities for preventive strategies.
