Stefan Molnar

Industrial doctoral student, Technology Management and Economics

Stefan’s research puts focus on how various actors involved in the development of our cities deal with sustainability issues, especially those concerning how our cities can provide better quality of life for people. As part of this he conducts studies on how city development projects are organized in practice. He also develops knowledge and tools which hopefully can help various city development actors to become more transparent in their arguments and decisions, thus making sure the actions that are taken are well-founded. In this he works together with actors such as municipalities, construction- and housing companies and architecture firms with a hope of contribution to research as well as practical development work. Stefan´s research is inspired by and contributes to fields such as urban planning- and design, science and technology studies, ethics and organizational theory.

Stefan’s background is in the social sciences, with sociology as his major. He started as an industrial PhD candidate in January 2016 and is formally employed at the state owned research institute RISE. His PhD work takes place within the Mistra Urban Futures research school, an international research- and knowledge center on sustainable city development.
