Max Biermann

PhD Student, Department of Space, Earth and Environment, Energy Technology

Max Biermann (M.Sc.) works with CO2 emission reduction in carbon-intensive process industry – predominantly iron & steel. He uses process simulation tools to study cost-efficient designs for CO2 absorption processes in order to facilitate (partial) carbon capture and storage. Carbon capture and storage is a necessary technology to meet the 2°C goal of the 2015 Paris Agreement (COP21). With the help of CCS Sweden even has the potential to become the first country with net-negative CO2 emissions. As a PhD student Max assists in the undergraduate course Thermodynamics and Energy Technology (MTF042).
