Martina Petranikova

Assistant Professor, Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Industrial Materials Recycling

Martina's work deals with hydrometallurgical process to recover valuable metals from primary sources (ores, concentrates) and secondary sources (spent portable and car batteries, steel making dust, mining waste, waste of electric and electronic equipment, etc.). The research is based on the development of hydrometallurgical technologies involving processes such as: leaching, solvent extraction, precipitation, electrowinning, etc. Developed processes are scaled up and optimized. To scale up solvent extraction processes, mixer-settlers of different size and pulse columns are used.
