Dr. Jagannath Kuchlyan joined the Wilhelmsson research group as a postdoc in 2021. His research interest is on nucleic acid structure, function, and dynamics. In his research he applies spectroscopy and microscopy-based techniques to investigate conformational dynamics of nucleic acids and cellular uptake and distribution of RNA-based therapeutics. He develops, characterizes and utilizes fluorescent base analogues which have a minimal perturbing effect on the nucleic acid structure and properties.. One of the main aims of his research is to design and utilize fluorescent molecules for oligonucleotide diagnostic, assay and therapeutic application.
