Julia Madrid

PhD Student at the division of Product Development, Department of Industrial and Materials Science

Julia Madrid is a PhD student, with mechanical engineering background, part of Wingquist Laboratory VINN Excellence Center and member of the research group “ Robust Design and Variation”. Julia works with producibility, having a focus on the aerospace industry. The competitiveness in this industry has been steadily increasing during last decades. Higher functionality expectations and rapid development of new materials and manufacturing technologies, added to low weight and cost requirements, have created a very complex product realization problem. Her research will contribute to, first identify the parameters, sources of variation that affect producibility and later, develop a set of methodologies and tools to evaluate the impact of the product design on a production system. This research work is funded by NFFP6 program.
