PhD student, Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Forest Products and Chemical Engineering

Jonas Wetterling is a PhD student at the department of Forest Products and Chemical Engineering. His research is focused on modeling the filtration of materials forming compressible filter cakes and the corresponding effect on the filtration procedure. Compression of filter cakes is significant for many biomaterials, for example the cellulose-particles studied in this project, and result in an increased filtration resistances and thereby decreased effectiveness of a separation step that are common in the industry as well as expected to be a prominent separation method in future biorefineries.
