I am working on the mathematical foundations of machine learning. My research is focused on group-equivariant convolutional neural networks (G-CNN), which give a fascinating perspective on the highly successful CNNs used for image classification tasks. G-CNNs are applied to data defined on homogeneous spaces, of which image data is but one example, and are studied using powerful mathematical frameworks of representation theory and differential geometry.

My project is part of the Wallenberg AI, Autonomous Systems and Software Program (WASP), a large-scale national research program. http://wasp-sweden.org/
