Fredrik Nilsson

Fredrik Nilsson is Vice President of Campus and Sustainable Development at Chalmers. Nilsson is an architect and Professor of Architectural Theory. He was Head of Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering 2018-2021, and for the Department of Architecture 2013-2017. He has also been Head of Research in Practice at Älvstranden Utveckling AB 2017-2018 and has a background as Partner at White Arkitekter, where he worked 2000-2017 and was Head of Research and Development 2007-2014. Nilsson’s research is directed to developments in contemporary architecture, architectural theory, architectural methodology and practice, with special interest in the epistemology of architecture and interaction between theory, conceptual thinking and design practice. Important aims are contributions to reinforced exchange between research and architectural practice.
