We have two open PhD student positions in the Communication Systems group at Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg, Sweden (extended application deadline is May 15).1. Coding Theory for Uncoordinated Multiple Access for Critical Low-Latency CommunicationThe main objective of this project is to analyze a promising class of uncoordinated multiple access protocols, namely coded slotted ALOHA, using recent concepts from modern coding theory.2. Signal Processing and Antenna Concepts for Reliable 5G Vehicle Communication The main objective of this project is to investigate the signal processing for 5G C-ITS antenna concepts, including MIMO, to be used for all-to-all broadcast messages between vehicles as well as backhaul links to/from the vehicles, especially at higher frequencies.The salary range before tax for PhD students is 29100 – 34200 SEK/month (= 3300 – 3900 USD/month = 3000 – 3600 EUR/month) including full social benefits. There are no tuition fees for PhD studies at Chalmers.
