Esraa Hamdy Mohamedin is PhD student at the division of Environmental Inorganic Chemistry. Her work focuses on high temperature corrosion in systems for heat storage applications utilizing eutectic salt melts. One such application can be thermal storage in concentrated solar power plants for electricity production even during nighttime. In collaboration with industry partners, they investigate and identify materials that can endure this highly corrosive high temperature environment. These materials are among others novel alumina forming alloys.
