Emma Skoog

PhD student

Emma Karlsson joined the Industrial Biology group as a PhD student in January 2014. She is part of the BioBUF-project where her main task is to engineer a strain with possibility to produce adipic acid. This globally important bulk chemical is mainly used as a starting compound in the nylon industry and today the production relies on non-renewable fossil based materials. In the BioBUF-project one of the aims are to design a more sustainable process for production of adipic acid with renewable starting materials and for this Emma is engineering a strain.
