Doryaneh Ahmadpour


Doryaneh got her PhD in Microbiology 2012 focusing on cellular signal transduction at molecular and systems level. Later, during her postdocs she invented a lab-on-a-chip approach for elevating arsenite uptake in yeast cells, an approach with promising bioremediation potential, studied the role of aquaporins in metastatic potential of ovarian cancer cells and exclusively focused on the vesicle trafficking pathways and involvement in protein damage clearance in the cell.
Currently she is focusing on underlying mechanisms related to TDP-43 proteinopathies e.g., cytoplasmic translocation, inclusion formation and prion-like propagation in the poorly understood neuromuscular and degenerative disease Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
