Daniel Böckin

PhD Student, Environmental Systems Analysis

Daniel Böckin graduated from Chalmers in 2015 after a B.Sc. in Engineering Physics and a M.Sc. in Industrial Ecology. He continued at Chalmers as a PhD student in the division of Environmental Systems Analysis, where he is a part of the Mistra-REES project (Resource Efficient and Effective Solutions based on circular economy thinking).

In this project he investigates circular economy solutions and evaluates what really leads to improved resource efficiency or not. In addition to studying circular solutions as a whole, Daniel has also used Life Cycle Assessment to assess potential future environmental effects from implementing 3D-printing in the automotive industry. The end of his doctoral studies are being spent analysing circular business models and their effects on resource efficiency, for example for companies within the outdoor industry.
