Bitten Gullberg

Hasselblad Fellow, Department of Space, Earth and Environment, Astronomy and Plasma Physics.

Bitten’s research is focused on the studying the physical conditions, such as the temperature, density, and the distribution of gas and dust in the interstellar medium of high-redshift (z>1) starburst galaxies. These galaxies form stars 10-100 times faster than the Milky Way and are difficult for simulations to reproduce. Bitten uses data from mm/submm telescopes such as ALMA and APEX, with the aim of better understanding how starburst galaxies fit into the context of galaxy evolution.
