My current research concerns applications of deep learning to numerical analysis. Deep learning has previously revolutionalized computer vision and natural language processing. A similar trend has started in numerical analysis of high-dimensional problems. Nonlinear partial differential equations of up to 10000 space dimensions have been solved approximately with deep neural networks. I do research on this type of methods for stochastic control problems and nonlinear filtering. Otherwise my research concerns existence of solutions, numerical analysis, and Malliavin calculus for stochastic partial differential equations.
​I supervise master students and doctoral students with projects connected to deep learning.
