Work at Chalmers: My first two-month visit of Chalmers was organized in the end of 1989. Since then, I spend a few months at Chalmers almost every year.

Fellowships, etc.:

(i) Senior Visiting Fellowship (1994,1999), University of Western Ontario, London, Ontario.

(ii) Waernska Guest Professorship (1997), Goteborg University.

(iii) Chalmers Anniversary Guest Professorship (2003),Chalmers University of Technology, Goteborg.

(iv) Guest Profesorship (2004), Hokkaido University, Sapporo.

(v) Membership in the Advisory Editorial Board of Surface Science (1998-2002).

Scientific interests:

(i) Surface science (theory of elementary rate processes on solid surfaces)

(ii) Heterogeneous catalysis (complex behaviour of catalytic reactions including oscillations, chaos and pattern formation; structure- and pressure-gap problems)

(iii) Biophysics (kinetics of protein folding, refolding, and adsorption; kinetics of cellular reactions)

Methods used in research: Mean-field kinetic equations and Monte-Carlo simulations
