Paul Erhart

Professor, Condensed Matter and Materials Theory, Department of Physics

Paul Erhart graduated from Technische Universität Darmstadt (Germany) in 2006. Starting in 2007 he was first a post-doctoral researcher and later a staff member at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in California (USA). He joined the faculty at the Department of Physics at Chalmers in 2011.
My research group applies electronic and atomic scale modeling techniques to study the fundamental properties of complex materials. Our current research is focussed on:
  • Electrical and thermal transport properties
  • Thermodynamics, kinetic, and plasmonic properties of nanoparticles
  • Molecules for solar thermal energy storage
As part of our research, we also develop models and methods for atomic scale simulation in particular for the description of multi-component systems.
