Malin Barman

Malin Barman is a specialist researcher within molecular epidemiology at the division of Food and Nutrition Science. Her research is mainly focused on finding associations between exposure to different nutrients in early life and development of the immune system and development of allergies. The research is both focusing on dietary intake among pregnant women and infants as well as measuring different nutrients, such as fatty acids, minerals, vitamins and metabolites in the blood samples. Allergy is one of our most common chronic disease and today more than one third of all children in Sweden are allergic. The goal with the research is to find early predictive biomarkers for allergy development and opportunities for preventive strategies.
