Christian Fager

Professor and Head of Laboratory at the Department of Microtechnology and Nanoscience, Microwave Electronics Laboratory

Christian Fager received his Ph.D. degree from Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden, in 2003. He has continued his career at the Microwave Electronics Laboratory at Chalmers where is a Full Professor since 2019 and Co-Director of the GHz Centre (www.chalmers.se/ghz).

Dr. Fager is performing research that spans from nonlinear transistor modeling, efficient power amplifier architectures, nonlinear distortion analysis and behavioral modeling, digital pre-distortion linearization, nonlinear and wideband measurement techniques, to digital radio-over-fiber solutions for wireless systems. He is co-inventor of 5 patents/patent applications and published more than 140 papers in refereed international journals and conferences. He also co-authored the book: Nonlinear Transistor Model Parameter Extraction Techniques (Cambridge University Press, 2011).

Dr. Fager is an IEEE Senior Member and currently serves as Associate Editor of IEEE Microwave Magazine and IEEE Microwave and Wireless Components Letters and also as a member of the MTT-20 (Wireless Communications) MTT-S technical committee. Dr. Fager is representative for Sweden, Norway and Iceland in the European Microwave Association (EuMA). He has served as chair/co-chair of the 2020 & 2021 IEEE Topical Conferences on RF/microwave Power Amplifiers and also TPC co-chair for the 2020 European Microwave Integrated Circuits Conference.

Dr. Fager received Chalmers Supervisor of the Year Award in 2018, the inaugural Chalmers Area of Advance Award in 2010, and the IEEE International Microwave Symposium Best Student Paper Award in 2002.
