Onsala Space Observatory National Infrastructure

Onsala Space Observatory (OSO), the Swedish National Infrastructure for Radio Astronomy, provides scientists with equipment to study the Earth and the rest of the Universe. In Onsala, 45 km south of Göteborg, we operate several radio telescopes for astronomy and geodesy. We take part in international radio astronomical projects, e.g., EVN, ALMA and SKA. The observatory is a geodetic fundamental station. The equipment for Earth sciences includes navigation satellite receivers, a superconducting gravimeter, tide gauges, and radiometers.
