The course is covering gasification processes with focus on one aspects each time: biomass/waste gasification, design of the gasification process, safety or analytics.

During the course students will get an overview of the subject area combined with a deeper theoretical understanding in the specific topic of the course assembled for the specific occasion.  Topics in previous years have been, gasificaton (general), waste gasification, safety, high temperature corrosion, biorefinery concepts.

The topic of the course among aforementioned varies and is to be decided for the next occasion depending on the research focus of the SFC. The course is suitable for PhD students and engineers from industry.

After completion of the course the student should be able to:
- Understand how choice of material/concept/technology/technique affects the process, measurement, emissions or safety
- Describe and formulate the challenge linked to the application of the discussed technology of technique
-  Formulate and solve generic challenges linked to the specific topic
