Course descriptionThis course will provide PhD students with fundamentals to measurement techniques applicable to the field of civil engineering. In the course the following topics will be handled: - Uncertainties General aspects,
- Concept and planning of measurement,
- Selection of test methods - Quality vs costs,
- Standardisation and accreditation,
- Estimation of error and uncertainty,
- Measurement instrument and calibration of instrument,
- Organisation of inter-comparison tests,
- Precision of test methods
- Collection, analysis and treatment of data, and
