Resource efficient planning for competitive production networks - Phase B

The construction and recycling industry are typically part of large production netw orks consisting of activities generating production, distribution and consumption. Still the construction and recycling industry are not making use of the potential existing w ithin those networks. By better interconnection between activities in the network, the construction and recycling industry would be able of meeting the challenges they are facing. Tactical planning, which is the prerequisite to accomplish better interconnection is how ever missing in those industries which leads to the purpose of the project ´to develop, implement and disseminate tactical planning processes and supporting IT tools for the construction and recycling industry´. The project is implemented in close collaboration betw een construction and recycling companies, researchers and system vendors. The constellation is able to develop in-depth insights into the planning conditions existing and develop general processes and tools adapted to those conditions. Effects of the product is increased resource efficiency and flexibility for the companies, business opportunities for the system vendors, increased know ledge about planning for the researchers and cost savings and environmental gains for Swedish society as al w hole.
