The Marie Curie HFAuto (Human Factors of Automated Driving) project bridges the gap between engineers and psychologist. The project sponsors 13 PhD students and 1 experienced researcher in Europe. The PhD at Chalmers focuses on eye glance behavior in autonomous driving to monitor the driver’s vigilance and mode awareness. A driver monitoring system will be developed. This system will support other in-vehicle systems to keep an appropriate level of driver in the loop at different levels of automation.
