HJT-Hybrid Joining Test bed for smart production

Purpose and goal: The goal of Hybrid Joining Testbed is to achieve the smart factory´s ability to create flexible production with simulation and programming in a digital twin that combines the latest technology for bonding, assembly and mechanical joining, rheology based simulation and automated collision-free path planning. HJT aims to run tests on real products with several of these disciplines and a whole process chain. A hybrid joining cell (HJC) with these possibilities that includes the effects of the color curing furnace affects curing in hybrid joints and end product geometry. Expected results and effects: HJT will contribute to effective interaction between joining methods and provide a faster and more flexible process for joining multi material structures. Knowledge building around hybrid joints will increase Swedish companies´ competitiveness. The methodology for co-programming of multiple synchronized equipment in a digital twin developed in the project, will create the conditions for more efficient process flows and shorter process planning times. Approach and implementation: The work in HJT revolves around the performance of hybrid joints of real products contributed by participating companies. Different joint combinations are tested and documented both functionally and geometrically, as well as what information in the equipment that produces reproducible results. A prerequisite for establishing integrated methods for hybrid joining is knowledge of which parameters that interact and how to simulate relationships so that the programming of the process, manages the whole process chain and the interaction between cooperating systems.
