The Royal Institute of Technology, in cooperation with Chalmers university of technology and the School of business, economics, and law, University of Gothenburg, has been granted a short research project concerning maintenance of freight and passenger trains. The project, ”Morgondagens depåer: roadmap for enhanced research and innovation in maintenance of rail vehicles”, is part of the Swedish Transport Administration’s effort to build knowledge around depots and maintenance. The project is a pre-study within the research area aiming at defining a roadmap, which in turn may lead to a strategy for prioritizing funds for continued research. The roadmap covers the technical fields but, due to resource reasons, neither economics nor behavioural science.
