The purpose of this project is to increase the competence for road safety analyses at Chalmers that will support all SAFER partners. The project aims to co-finance the employment of one person at the Department for Applied Mechanics who will lead the development of a Field Data Platform (i. e. a platform for collection and analysis of field data). This person shall collect competences within analysis in order to reach a consensus within SAFER and to e.g. attract research funding from national and international financiers. Furthermore, the project includes investigation of different ways of combining data from different databases; it is identified what the main issues are and methods are developed for addressing these issues. A practical application of this research is related to the combination of data from several in-depth databases within the iGlad project. Finally, regular meetings are organised for analysts at SAFER; the aim with the meetings is to improve information, knowledge and data sharing between SAFER partners.
