The aim of the project is to further develop research on building stock modeling and to develop space-time GIS applications for urban structures.
The focus is on data capture and the visualization of structural and environmental building data. For data capture, field studies of existing buildings are carried out. Additional data sources are aerial photos, statistics, real estate managers and suppliers.
Visualization strategies are developed by linking GIS and building stock modeling concepts and, by that, to support communication of environmental data and to provide an improved basis for decision-making towards a sustainable management of existing buildings.
