Data Driven User Experience - DDUX
Purpose and goal: The goal with the project is to develop new methods for enhance understanding of the driver support systems cruise control, adaptive cruise control and pilot assist and thereby increase adequate usage with increased user experience. Project will implement a new system where messages can be communicated to user through in-car displays to inform and teach users when it is appropriate to use studied systems and when it is most suitable The new method is the first step to beta-prototype new ideas directly towards real customers in correct context. Expected results and effects: Car signals are used to understand usage of different car functions and thereby understand problems, advantages and limitations with the system from a user point of view. Today’s in-car HMI systems will be manipulated in order to show context based messages to users to increase adequate usage of systems. The project will increase understanding for how effective and relevant communication between driver and car shall be designed to enhance safety, experience and teach users. Approach and implementation: The project is a continuation of a previous research project were signal data from cars has been used to understand customers understanding and willingness to use different systems and users behaviour connected to studied systems. In WP1, validation of previous research findings will be conducted. In WP2, the focus will be to develop and implement a new prototype system to display messages to users in native displays systems in the car. Finally, all results in the project will be validated in WP3.
