This is an overview of important dates throughout the application process, up to the beginning of your Master’s studies.

The application period for Master’s programmes starting in autumn 2021
16 October 2020 - 15 January 2021 - Submit your application!
The online application service portal is open. Open an account and choose programmes/university at universityadmissions.se or antagning.se (application deadline at midnight CET).
The application period for Master's programmes opens for national and international students.
16 October 2020 - 1 February 2021 - If required, pay the application fee
Above is the deadline for providing proof of being exempted (EU/EEA citizens etc.) or paying the application fee. If required, pay the application fee of 900 SEK (Swedish kronor) to universityadmissions.se. Note, one or the other is required in order for your application to be processed. The fee is an non-refundable administrative fee.
Mid-November 2020 - Mid-January 2021 - Apply for a scholarship
Application for scholarships administered by Chalmers University of Technology is a separate application process.
Take note, the SI scholarships are not administered by Chalmers.
October 2020 - 1 February 2021 - The deadline for all supporting documentation
No documents should be sent directly to Chalmers University of Technology.
The list of required documents is specific to Chalmers and applies to all applicants including those with a Swedish personal identity number and/or Swedish citizenship.
16 January 2021 and onwards - late application for some Master's programmes
After the 15th of January, it may still be possible to submit an application for some Master’s programmes. Any application submitted from 16th of January and onwards will be considered as a late application. Note, Chalmers does not guarantee the processing of applications submitted after the general deadline, even when the application fee has been paid.
9 April 2021 - Publication of the official Notification of Selection Results
The Notification of Selection Results from university admissions is available online as a printable PDF file, so no hard copy is sent by regular mail. The print-out serves as the official document and should be used when you need to present an official copy of your selection results.
Mid-March to early May 2021 - Scholarship Award Notifications
The Scholarship Award Notifications will be sent out (by e-mail) to all grant recipients. In order to keep your scholarship offer, you have to confirm that you accept the offered scholarship. Instructions will follow in your scholarship offer notification. Make sure to confirm by the specified deadline.
All applicants will receive an email with information regardless of whether or not they have been awarded a scholarship.
Note, this applies to scholarships administered by Chalmers University of Technology only (the SI scholarships are NOT administrated by Chalmers).
14 May 2021 - The deadline for the first installment of the tuition fee
The first installment of the tuition fee must have been received by Chalmers by this date (payment for the 1st semester out of 4). The invoice will be sent 14 April 2021. Applies to fee-paying students only.
August/September 2021 (date not set) - Orientation Week
Welcome to Chalmers! Chalmers University of Technology and Chalmers International Reception Committee (CIRC) arrange an Orientation week for all newly enrolled students.
August/September 2021 (date not set) - The first day of the autumn semester and the last date to register online!Studies begin!
You must have registered online no later than (date not set)
2021. It is a mandatory procedure in order to keep the offered study place. Detailed instructions will be provided for all admitted students. Check your Notification of Selections result published at your personal account and follow the link to the Student portal. Stay updated!
